QUESTIONS

  • I live in an apartment building and I do not have a lease at this time my lease was up and I just never renewed it the building is now owned with a new landlord and I am no longer comftroble living her my rent is do no latter then the 3 rd of feb if I want to move out befor the rent is due do I need to give a 30 day notice or pay rent for February?
  • I was given a prescription by my doctor for pain from an automobile accident. I took my meds at work and was fired on the spot, even though I have a prescription,. and was told I was fired because I was taking medicine. Do I have grounds for legal action?
  • I lived in XXXXX apartments until June 2015. In June of 2015 I paid $406.17 to end my lease and my roomates and I signed a roommate release form saying that I was no longer on the lease. They moved out prematurely in August of 2015. Apparently a sum was sent to a collection agency for that apartment in 2016 and they included my name when they did that. I did not find out about this until I applied for an apartment for my daughter and I in May of 2017 and was denied because of this sum. I called the complex and was basically told that they cant help me. What can I do from here?
  • My roommate flaked out on me and I need to pay a termination fee for the apartment. We are both signed on the lease but I need to know if my roommate is also responsible to split the termination fee and if so, what if my roommate refuses? Will she be responsible for paying her part? The termination fee is four months of rent and I am able to pay two (half) of the overall fee. My landlords said if she won't pay her part, it will be sent to collections and they will also require me to pay the remaining balance if she doesn't.
  • My daughters father has been absent for 5 years. He had a prior court order that allowed him visitation over 5 years ago. He completely stopped taking her or picking her up. Has not contacted her or I since then. She is now 8 and he now wants to see her again and wants shared legal etc. He is also now engaged and had a 2 year old. Can they take my 401K if I file BK? How long will BK put off a Trustee sale? If your mortgage is delinquent can you still file BK to try to put off the trustee sale? If you have 2 accounts with one credit company like Discover and one is joint with someone else and one is only in your name, can you just file BK on the one in your name only without them going after the other card with joint owner?   • I allowed some friends to stay with me until they found a place. Instead of finding a house, they spent all the money at a casino. They have brought drugs into my home and used them. It has now been almost two months and they have not found any where to live. He has MS and I feel bad but I don't want them here anymore. How do I get them out legally?

My question...do you advise me to get a lawyer for this court appearance? What is the possible punishment for this violation?? Thank you!! PS: I have NO record!
