  • How can I defend myself professionally on a Summons that was delivered to me?It states on there I have within 20 days to defend myself. And its states that i pay for the filing fee. Do I have to pay it?
  • In my lease it states I have to provide 30 days written notice (email will comply). My landlord told me I have to give notice for the full rent cycle and is trying to tell me we are obligated to pay another full moths rent. Do I have to give 30 days notice, or a full rent cycle notice? My intention is to move after the 1st of the next month but prior to month ending. Can I do so and provide a pro-rated amount of rent to my landlord or do I have to be out by the 1st?

  • I moved into a condo where the walls are extremely thin. I am a middle unit and have no problems with the unit to my left, but the noise to my right. HOA board members, neighbors, and police officers have been in my unit to witness the noise. The noisy neighbor is a renter. We had a mandatory meeting with myself (owner), the renters, the HOA board,and the other owner, to no avail. The HOA wants me to get incident numbers for every time I make a noise complaint (at least 2x/wk). They say they fine the owner per complaint, but this has been continuous since Nov. It's Aug.   • my room mate is holding my belongings and won't release them until I pay $1500 to him is this legal
  • I live in a place that was built in the 60s and the plumbing is still the old school piping (not plastic) but our toilet is brand new. My sister put a baby wipe down the toilet and it plugged up the piping. The plumber came out and said normally a wipe is fine to flush but because the piping is ancient you can't. So it cost $200 to fix the problem and our landlord handed us the bill. Is this right? Shouldn't they be paying for this?
  • In the city of Phoenix Arizona they are allowed to charge a 2% tax fee on rent. My apartment complex charges 2.3% on every single charge on the bill. My rent is $757 and I pay $17.41 for taxes just on my rent alone. My mailbox is on site but I have to drive 20 minutes and pay $40 to pick up my mailbox key! Even though it's onsite. It's not a P.O Box. They also charge a $21 fee to pay my rent online but they refuse to let us pay any other way than online. When asked if the 2.3% tax is included in property tax the employee agreed it was. Is this legal to keep charging all these fees w/ high tax?

  • Hello, My husband and I divorced after 46 years of marriage Jan 16,2014. We remained in the same home until I was hospitalized and then moved in with my daughter. My husband got our vehicles in the divorce. He has since passed away Jan of 2015. I found that the vehicles were never transferred from "or" status his name or my name. I am legally entitled to the vehicle. His son was named as the sole heir in his trust.
