  • My fuance is in jail facing prison time he has a son whom he left in my care in his home on the reservation his aunt filed for custody of my stepson and won citing that i was not a tribal member and therefore did not qualify as a suitable gaurdian. My stepson is not a registered tribal member and i will be marrying his father soon.my son currently lives off rez with his aunt now are there jurisdiction issues? Can i petiin the court in his aunts area to be heard? Do i have any kind of legal legs to stand on?i want my son i am not struggling with addiction or have a criminal record
  • We've been living in a rental home for 4 years and the last few months went to a month to month lease. We've never been late with rent but we received a 30 day notice to vacate. We were told by the property management company that the owners are in trouble. I am disabled and this is causing me to have flare ups in my conditions. We've asked for an extension but was told no. Do we have any other options to get more time?
  • Hoping I picked the right category. In January of this year (2017) I received a 1099-C from the bank cancelation of debt from a Home Equity Line. Does the bank need to release the lien or deed that was recorded when the HEL was established? How do I know they truely forgave the debt or if there is still some backdoor for them to collect should I sell or refi the home? I only received the 1099-C nothing else. And at the Maricopa recorders office no release was recorded. What do I need to do to have them release it. Is there a time frame that the bank is required to file a release?

  • When a child turns 19 is a parent legally responsible for that child. For example, a child moves out of home and is making poor choices, if something were to happen is the parent liable.
  • I was arrested for a gun charge when I was 19. The case against me was dismissed with prejudice. The arrest is showing up when a background check is completed for work. How can I get the arrest expunged? This record is preventing employment.
  • Apartment has had leaks for years so stated. I moved in Dec. 2011. Leaks have been never ending when it does rain. Mgmt. company is likely to be fed up with me in complaints, and ask me to move. Is there anything to be done this side of making it worse for both of us?
  • What is the definition of Conservatorship? Consent of parent to conservatorship of a minor child and waiver of notice.
