QUESTIONS

  • My son and his former girlfriend have a 2 year old daughter. Paternity has been established. The girlfriend has been gone for over 2 weeks- she left the baby with the maternal grandmother. Does my son have a legal right to go and get his daughter. We now live in Georgia.
  • My Divorce Decree was supposed to be filed on August 16th 2013 and I don't see the electronic online file minutes. Where can I find out if they were filed properly and ontime?
  • If a parent is in the military and their legal state of residence is Arizona, and so was the spouses and children at time of filing, wouldn't that give Arizona jurisdiction for child custody? Even if neither person had lived in Arizona for the past 11 yrs? Parent filing at the time was stationed overseas, but has since moved back to the states. The other parent (who has the children) resides in Kentucky, but at the time was not a legal resident of Kentucky.
  • I know grandparents have right but do aunts and uncles have rights as well?
  • My ex-girlfriend that lives in Colorado is claiming that I am the father of her 4yr old and asking for money. If he is mine want to give her money for the child but I also want to be able to see him. He was born in Texas and my name is not on the birth certificate. Can I file for a paternity test here in Arizona where I live? Or do I have to file for one in Colorado where the baby and mother live? Or do I have to file for the paternity test in Texas where the child was born?
  • My ex husband recently passed away and his only children were named sole beneficiaries in the divorce decree(irrevocable). The decree states that he was to maintain a policy through his employer but his widow insists he only had one policy that she purchased and maintained through AFLACK. How can my children find out if they are entitled to any monies from this or any other policy that could be hidden. His widow insists that she has nothing and that he had no will

I thought since domestic vioelnece i was able to leave according to 33-318.
  • My daughteris being physically abused by her husband  He has done this before. The police came once to escort her out of the trailer. He left before they came. She is afraid of him as he has threatened to have her children taken away. I am not sure as to what to do as parents. He apologizes, then she keep accepts him back. We are worried about the children. We live in Alaska
  • I moved into a new upstairs apartment unit in May 2011. It is now June 2011. Everything is great, except I have downstairs neighbors who play loud music from 1 am-5 am. The music is soft enough, but the bass is extremely loud. It vibrates our beds, floors and walls. We have spoken with the manager, who says that she can do nothing. The police have come, (twice), and are sympathetic but because it seems to affect only me (the vibration is in the bedroom below me), they don't know what else to do. Can I break my lease? More specifically, I want to change units. Can that be done?
