QUESTIONS

  • I am a teacher who took FMLA leave for surgery. My principal said that I am not allowed on campus to attend a meeting concerning my schedule. Is this true? He also said that if I request a meeting, they cannot meet with me because of the FMLA guidelines. Is that true? It all sounds fishy. Why wouldn't my staff be allowed to answer my emails under FMLA?
  • If there have been multiple vehicle break-ins and I am moving because I don't feel safe, can I leave without penalty? My lease asks for a 60 day notice, this just happened no way for me to give a notice. Also my lease is up September 9. I read that it's AZ state law, that if a tenant feels unsafe they may leave. I am moving because I literally can't sleep because my car was broken into and I have a small child.
  • My house was burglarized and entry was gained through a broken window. I have contacted my landlord 48 ago, and have received no response. How long does she have to respond to making repairs?
  • I live in an HOA where the board wants to change the CC&Rs to start requiring homeowners to provide deposits for several things, such as bringing in dumpsters. I reviewed Title 33 and the only place where I see they can require a deposit is for remodeling a main house (33-1817.B) in order to make sure the remodel complies with approved plans. ARS Title 33 is clear that the HOA can assess fines and assessments but, other than this one instance, it does not say they can require deposit. Are they allowed to do this?
  • Is it legal for my landlord to issue me a five day notice then take my keys on the fifth day, a day I have a email proving I had a work related test to take which I missed , take my keys and tell me to make an appointment with him to get my things
  • location of child support office in phoenix

  • Apartment complex is implementing "Valet trash" service where the trash will be collected at the apartment door. There will be a fee for this service. Can the Landlord force tenant to use this service and pay for it in addition to the trash collection service (there will be still dumpsters where tenants can take the trash)
  • My girlfriend in highschool got pregnant not sure if it mine or not, she took of and the kid is almost , she's now ordering a paternity and child support. Is there anything I can do? I feel she is only doing this now that she has found out from and old friend in highschool that I'm not happy and have kid another kid
  • My father who is 70 years old was approached by a Phoenix company. How do I find out if this company is legitimate? I think it's a scam and want to convince my Dad - as he is already filling out the paperwork. Thank you for your help in this matter.
