QUESTIONS

  • I Sublet a room in the house I live in and the Roommate stopped paying rent. December 1st will be 3 months not paid. There is NO lease. The agreement was pay weekly and utilities included.
  • My 19 year old daughter is in college and she is wanting to know if she is eligible for support to help her pay for college from the non custodial parent.
  • The property owner wants to charge me HOA fees for grounds maintenance. I am a tenant in an apartment complex. When questioned, they said they could do this according to Arizona General Provisions 33-1314 and 33-1314.01. I think this addresses utilities, water and separate meters, not HOA dues. I also will not have access to CC&R's, or be able to have a seat on the board or see the financials, because (in their words) I am not an owner. Can you let me know if they can in fact charge me HOA dues?
  • I am married but had a child with a boyfriend. Is the boyfriend obligated to pay child support even though I am considered married to someone else? My boyfriend signed the birth certificate.
  • My brother owns a construction company and hired a homeless man. He told the homeless man he could temporarily stay in a trailer that had no electricity or water, but a roof over his head. This trailer is on my property and the homeless man has since been fired by my brother and I gave him an eviction notice and he has not made any attempt to move out. He built a shed on my property without permission using stolen material from my brothers construction company. How do I get him off my property? There was no written lease only a verbal agreement. I don't know what to do?
  • We had a water leak in our backyard. We notified the landlord in writing three times , but it took one month for them to fix it. Our water bill has now doubled. We wrote to them that we would like them to pay the half exceeding our normal amount--they have not responded. What are our rights?
  • While I was with my Mom at her boyfriend's house in CA, my friend and I walked in on them watching porn in the living room. They didn't hear us come in so she doesn't know that I know. I told my Dad and he is trying to decide how to handle this. I want to know (and so does my Dad) if this is reason enough for my Dad to get sole custody. Now they both have joint physical custody. Has a crime been commited and how will the courts view this event? Thank you.
  • My rental house was vandalized. A police report was filed and we do not know the culprit. Are the tenants responsible to cover damages due to the vandalism?
  • At what age in Arizona can a child go before a judge to present their opinions and feelings in regards to which parent they want to live with?
  • Per my lease agreement I sent notice to my landlord that I wanted to renew the lease a month prior to lease ending via email 6/28/19, the same day he sent me notice of rent increase which was received on 6/29/19. He recently replied that we are on a month to month, our lease does not end until July 31st at 5pm. He took over two weeks to respond to email, I am unable to give him 30days notice as he took too long to respond, I recently emailed back accepting he rental amount if a lease is written. What right do I have? Last year when he raised the rent he back dated the 30 day notice.
