QUESTIONS

  • Me and my ex girlfriend have a daughter out of wedlock. I am curious how child support works with that type of situation. I'm on the birth certificate. I also don't think she is fit or ready to take care of my daughter. I would like short term full custody and then when she has her feet on the ground we can readjust. How should I go about this ?
  • Our living will was updated for the state of California; should it be updated for Arizona since this is our primary residence?
  • Can a company automatically extend a contract for an additional year (original term 5 years) without the senior's consent. Note: The language to extend was included in the small print in the original agreement.
  • Ive been living with a woman for 15 yrs (shes still married from previous marriage) and I've asked her to leave and she will not. what are my rights - I am owner of the home we are living in and shes not working. Its a volatile relationship and concerned about it. what can I legally do to evict this person
  • My home was foreclosed (sold at auction) in 2009. I had two loans on the home, my primary residence: a Primary and a Home Equity Line of Credit. I have become aware that the HELOC bank, *****, has not written off my loan yet; this is preventing me from purchasing another home, which I have under contract. Q: Should a HELOC be considered "settled" with a foreclosure or can ***** the bank still pursue me for the unpaid loan amount (+$100K)? I am waiting to hear from *****, but they are extremely slow to respond and this could cause me to lose a potential new home! :-(
  • If we live in a gated senior community, what is the responsibility of the Landlord to notify residents of an uptick in crime?
  • Our lease states that a clothes washer and dryer are "furnished appliances." Knowing that they would be here is part of what made us decide to move here. We discussed it with our landlord before we moved in, and he said he would have take care of it. After two months, we still don't have a washer and dryer. When I brought it up to the landlord last week, he said he didn't remember the conversation, but if I wanted, he would buy a washer and dryer, and he would let us pay it off with our rent. I looked at the lease again, just to make sure I remembered correctly, and don't understand this.
  • I recently found out I am paying for the electric in the laundry room that everyone else uses. Is this considered a breach in contract, if I pay my own utilities. The realty company said they will take $25 off the rent each month or to move out, is this violating my rights as a tenant?
  • My father has turned my girlfriend in to DHR on suspicision of child abuse of my son. I am a single parent with full custody of my son. My girlfriend lives out of state. My father has threatened to file for temporary custody unless I allow my son to stay with him until the case is closed. I do not have the funds to fight my father in court and felt I had no other choice. My son has been with my father for three nights now. I want to take him back home with me but does my father have the ability to take temporary custody and if so do I need a lawyer to deny him this?
  • We unknowingly moved into a complex that is infested with bedbugs. They management here is fully aware of this problem and never told us. Almost a year later I have had to throw everything away. 1 bunk bed, 2 toddler beds, and my queen bed. I asked for a copy of my file and have been refused. I served the office with a 10 day compliance notice and sent one certified mail. The office manager laughed in my face and told me he was just going to evict me. There are several units that broke leases due to bedbugs. What is my next step?
