QUESTIONS

  • Our lease on our Apt. ended and we had a three month extension. The three months are up and we are moving. the Apt are coming at us saying we are liable for another months rent. The apt. is claiming a 30 day vacancy notice but the lease is already up. i also had one roomate leave and another move in during the lease period. Teh question I have is can they hold us responsible for the one month extra rent?

  • Our landlord gave us 1.5 hours to complete the move in forms. Even though we asked for more time by leaving the form with us. She demanded that she had to be there to compete it with us but that she had an appointment and both parties were on a time frame. I want to know how much time Arizona gives a tenant for a move in form. Did we have the right to request more time and the right is she couldn't be there to complete it on our own?
  • My son's biological father has visitation every other weekend. If he is out of state when it is his time for visitation, do I still have to take our son to see his wife (my son's step mom) or can I keep him at my house until his father returns? My son's step mother does not have visitation rights.
  • My Landlord has been providing poor maintenance that "fixes" the problem. Our a/c has been leaking into the hallway and under the sink where the drain connection is. Because of the poor maintenance and the well-being of my family I pipe snaked the drain and provided proper fittings for the drain a total of 1.5hrs of maintenance. I notified the landlord and asked for a reduction in next months rent for labor and materials, am I within my legal right to do so?

And why would my lawyer be in contact with him and give him an extra week to see what he is going to offer? Is there malpractice suit here as well?
