QUESTIONS

  • My question is about signing a lease and the rent is showing 745.00 a month which I signed on July 30th of this year. From 09/01/2015 to midnight 08/31/2016. I was told by the manager of the complex that there was a mistake was made by there computer and that the rent should have been for 796.62. This was told to me after I had sign my original lease. The manager wanted me to initial a additional paper to show that the computer should have shown that the rent was suppose to be 796.62.what I want to know is do I pay the 745.62 or the 796.62.
  • We have submitted a notice to move out at the end of next month and already have signed a lease for a new house. The landlord wanta to put the house on the market beginning next month. My question is, with this Covid 19 crisis I don't feel comfortable with people coming in and out of my house meanwhile I am still living here, especially since I am a nurse and have to go to work and be around elderly people. Is there any safety measures in place for me? Whether it be future tenants wearing a mask before entering or the landlord having to wait till we move out to show the house?
  • Can you add add the fathers name to the birth certificate if he is not present.
  • Our son who was 41 committed suicide. he did not leave a will. I need to have power of attorney so I can deal with his estate. Do we have to file something with the probate court? If so how do I go about that?
  • I have a 16 year old daughter who lived with her father and step mother in Arizona while I was recuperating from a heart attack. (I voluntarily gave him temporary custody, and live in a separate state). During the time my daughter lived with them, she was placed on probation. All of the court papers were signed by her step mother, are these documents legal? Does a step parent have the legal right to sign legal papers as a parent or guardian, without being granted guardianship of the child?
  • I have more than 10 years seniority in my job. I was on a family leave for 6 weeks last year . This summer my boss denied my request for 10 days off saying that I was already too much off work. Can he do that?. I think he wants me to resign. If I do will I be eligible for unemployment compensation?
  • How do I go about having my juvenile record sealed?
  • I am considering remarriage. I am a widow & receive widows SS benefits. I also work full time, own my own home(mortgage on it) vehicle(no lien) savings. I just found out my fiancee(age 64) has not paid income taxes since the 1970's(Tea Party does not believe in paying) the IRS has seized his SS benefit. He has no savings & little income(electrician works for himself). Says he plans on filing a lawsuit against the IRS for his SS. How would this situation affect me if we were to marry? He can also take his union retirement anytime, would the IRS sieze this also? Can they lien any of my SS benefits and/or put lien on my house if we were to marry? I feel they could, he says no that if we did a prenuptial agreement, would be fine. I disagree, the IRS could care less about it. I am not going to marry him regardless but would like to be better informed. Thank you
  • I was injured on the job 4-4-14 and reinjured 8-7-14. I returned to work on restricted duty 9-21-14 and was fired 10-24-14. Can they do this?
  • I've read that Az. doesn't recognize common law marriage. However, I can't find information to clarify what occurs with a partnership after a given number of years. I've been cohabitating with a lady for 7 years, and recently was told "you've been together long enough that everything you have is community property." I'm concerned about our separate investments that we each have willed to our respective children. Thanks for any information you might be able to provide.
