QUESTIONS

  • how long does it take to receive an eviction notice from the court from the time of non payment of rent? I s it a matter of 1-3 weeks or is it 2-3 months?
  • i realize the landlord is responsible for habitable property, do they have to pay for another rental for my family and relocate us due to mold in apt which is not my fault. who pays?
  • Is there a 3 day release from jail if not charged rule? But if the jail lists charges on the inmate, doesn't that mean that they have been charged? And if the preliminary hearing is scheduled, doesn't that mean that they have been charged, but not necessarily indicted? On major methamphetamine trafficking charges, isn't it unlikely someone would get out on the above-mentioned 3 day "rule"? Without a bond? Just turned loose?
  • If my self and the father of the child have a temporary agreement, and if he has violated the agreement, as far not letting me know where he lives . We’re going to court now but it keeps getting pushed , we had court today , and he wants to put the child in daycare but I have him Monday - Thursday, he picks him up at 6PM Thursday and has the child until Sunday at 6PM . How likely is the judge to change the agreement? He always wanted to do one week with him and one week with me , the the child is 4yo, would the judge change the agreement?

  • can my landlord keep me from moving my travel trailer because I owe two months rent? we had agreed in October I would pay October and November rent in mid November when my student grants came in, they will be here next week, but my son only has this weekend to move my trailer for me.   • I paid my deposit to my landlord with 2 money orders. I have receipts from the landlord for both of them. The landlord "lost" one of the money orders. They are now asking me to pay them again for the lost one and for me to file the paperwork myself to see if I can get the money back from the company who issued the original money order. I feel that once it left my possession and they gave me a receipt that it is their responsibility. Can they penalize me for their mistake?
  • The gas is in my landlord's name because it covers the whole building, and he is supposed to give us a monthly statement so we can pay our share. We have been here since January. It is March, and we have yet to receive a bill. I am afraid that he will wait until it is too much to pay at once. Does he have a time limit to get our monthly bill to us?
  • I am renting an apartment that had significant water damage from the tenant above. This happened on 07/22/2017. We currently still have no ceiling in our closet, there is still a leak in the closet. The carpet pad has been removed and the bedroom carpet needs to be replaced. I have already tripped on the carpet and luckily not hurt, but the new owners since 9/7/2017 are not repairing our unit. Can I use uninhabitable living conditions to break my lease?
