We split up when she was 2 (she is 4 now), he has been paying child support for 5 months and was ordered to pay $17k arrears. He consented to step parent adoption before child support was ordered. The adoption will be final 6/1/11. Recently he started threatening to take me to court for paternity, can he?
  • I am a condo owner, I live in the unit and rent out my 2nd bedroom to someone. We have a lease, and we have also been working under the agreement that we switch off paying for things that we share, for example paper towels, light bulbs in the common areas, etc. However, she is now refusing to purchase a new furnace filter, saying that is a 'maintenance item' and is my responsibility. I think this falls under the 'damages due to negligence' clause in the lease. I plan to take the cost of the filters out of her last month's rent and her lease-end date be moved up accordingly. Is that legal?

  • I bought land in September from Mortgage. There is a mobile home on the land. We didnt buy this home only the land. So we talk to the lady give her an eviction notice to move the house from our property in 30 days. She leaves the home and the home is still on our property. So we take her to court to move the home. She doesn't come. So the judge rendered on our favor. Does that give me the okay to sell?
