  • I had a question in relation to access notices. A lot of landlords are currently only responding to emergency maintenance calls to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and limiting person to person contact right now. With that being said, if a landlord serves a tenant an access notice stating that they need to enter their dwelling for a pest control inspection, can that tenant deny entry if they have concerns of others being in the home at this time, or does the landlord still have full access rights as long as they provide notice 48 hours or more in advance?

  • Do I need to get annulment from my two month marriage. I recently found out I have been married for the past 9 years to another man that I thought I was divorced from. The original husband is a Veteran and although I might not be eligible for benefits because I left 9 years ago, I need to know if I can still apply for benefits being currently married.   • I informed my landlord that there were several things that needed to be fixed (the dishwasher and the toilet) She never responded to my requests. I waited several days. I then informed her that I would have these items fixed and that I would provide her with receipts of the work done and deduct it from my rent. Again, she did not respond. Now she is seeking late fees for the amount that I deducted from my rent. In addition, the roof has leaked for the last year and after numerous requests has not been fixed to my knowledge. Can she do this and can I break m y Lease?
  • My girlfriend is renting a property from a family friend,who claims she is renting for her mother.The property is co -owned by another person who is unaware of the property being rented out.The mother passed away and the family friend is evicting my girlfriend for nonpayment of rent.Until the family friend provides proof of ownership.Should my girlfriend try and establish contact with the other owner?So,he is aware of his property being rented out without his knowing.
  • My son lives with me but father has custody can I get back child support for the last 4 years he has lived with me?
  • i have paid a large sum of money to the back child support i owe however the mother of the children will not fill out an affidavit to give me credit. can i file a motion to see if the court will grant that so i can clear up the back support. i have clear proof in my bank account the she got the money direct to her bank account, she gave me credit for two of the payments but refuses to do the rest and it is over $2000.00. i do not have the money for an attorney and will have to do the filing my self so i need to know how and what forms.
  • My son's biological father has visitation every other weekend. If he is out of state when it is his time for visitation, do I still have to take our son to see his wife (my son's step mom) or can I keep him at my house until his father returns?
