QUESTIONS

  • 2 weeks after our final walk through with our landlord confirming the condo was in perfect condition, the landlord contacted me and said that the day after the walk through, she sensed a smell of cigarette smoke in the condo and had to have some treatment done and had to hold new tenants back for 3 days and that she was going to withdraw these charges from our security deposit. Noone ever smoked in the condo located in Flagstaff with no A/C unit and windows were always open. There are wildfires in the area that we have no control of. This cannot be legal and I am willing to go to court!
  • I moved in the 4th of July weekend, signing a 1 year lease, which will convert to month-to-month after the 1st year. On 12/31/15 I received a notice that they were raising my "tax" amount effective 2/1/16 - is this legal? And once the lease becomes month-to-month and you agree to a rental amount increase (which is sure to come), do you legally have to sign the agreement which is the same format as a "1 year" lease? Is it also possible to receive a copy of the "Landlord/Tenant Handbook"?

  • I am renting an apartment that had significant water damage from the tenant above. This happened on 07/22/2017. We currently still have no ceiling in our closet, there is still a leak in the closet. The carpet pad has been removed and the bedroom carpet needs to be replaced. I have already tripped on the carpet and luckily not hurt, but the new owners since 9/7/2017 are not repairing our unit. Can I use uninhabitable living conditions to break my lease?

Anotherwords, during a burglary investigation and a search of a residence indicated items that were burglarized, along with drug parafanillia, no charges were filed regarding the burglary but charges were filed on the drug parafanillia and the defendant took a plea deal on them and sentenced 4 years ago......now all of a sudden they charge the defendant with the burglary, and the same drugp again 4yrs lat

Now they want to change all the parks water meters and mind you they added a bunch of trailers that are lobsided and looks like they’re going to fall. Are they allowed to change the whole parks water meter.. how do parks normals measure water here in Arizona
  • I've been renting an apartment for % years I always questioned there late fees they use to charge 50.00 then five dallars a day after. this year they raised my rent by 30.00 and they raised the late fee by 25.00 and 10.00 a day after now the late fees are 75.00 after the 3rd and 10.00 a day after. I pay 715.00 a month for a one bed room apt. I just want to know if this late fee is legal. That over 10% of my rent in late fees. I work full time and get paid every two weeks unfortunately I have to pay late fees due to this I feel like the management is taking avantage of the tenants is this legal
