  • Me and my girlfriend are asian. Currently I am working in US by holding my non immigrant visa and she is staying in Asia. We are planning to get marry soon. Is it possible I sign a marriage certificate in US then courier to her to sign for her part? She needs to apply her Visa as my supplement with the legal Marriage Certificate before she can legally stay with me in US.
  • When my wife and I separated she gave me a noterized letter stating I had met all my financial obligations of the household we shared. Now that we’re proceeding with divorce she is trying to say I owe a bunch of money in loans she took out from her family. Will the noterized letter defend me if we go to trial?
  • I am applying to live in an apartment, and the application asks for my birth certificate. My peers think that is unheard of and that I need to double check why they are asking for that personal documentation. Does it have anything to do with the laws regarding illegal immigration? Or does it have to do with checking to see if I am a legal citizen, but why can't they just use my drivers license and/or social security number?
  • I live in an eight unit cluster of small houses and duplexes. The property has been inundated by tenants with dogs. The problem is the increased noise level from almost constant barking. The property managers are making money off the presence of the dogs and flat-out don't care. I'm being harassed by my neighbor. She makes her dog bark at all hours of the day and night. Any recourse?
  • i have a roommate. i own my trailer and let her rent a room from me. i just found out she has been stealing from me. no agreements or lease was signed. she paid this months rent but im using it to pay for a plumber i had to get because she broke my toilet. she says she wont leave until i give her half the rent back. do i have to give it to her? can i just make her leave since there is no lease or agreements signed?
  • My girlfriend and I have two children together. I would like to gain custody of them since she has been experiencing mental health issues and cannot take care of the children.  I cannot afford a lawyer and have been told I cannot leave the state without her permission and was also told since the children's birth certificates establish I am the father and that they have my last name I can relocate with them. I can't get a straight answer !
  • I recently went through a child custody hearing. In the judges ruling, he claimed that I was convicted of Domestic Violence and that I was abusing te legal system by reporting Domestic violence by my ex. I have never been charged but my ex has been 12 times with 5 convictions and 5 other charges dismissed as part of plea agreements. Do I have any recourse against the judge?
  • I've lived at an extended stay motel for about 2 years. Last September my cooler went out and my landlord has been saying since then that he will get it fixed by the time hot weather is back. It's now almost 100 degrees here and it still isn't fixed. My landlord acts like he has no responsibility because it's a motel but I'm wondering what I can legally do to remedy this.
