QUESTIONS

  • Is a landlord required to paint the apartment between tenants?
  • Can unemployment that he will be getting be garnished for child support?
  • If the water heater in the condo unit I rent has been faulty & running 24/7 causing the electric bill to be MUCH greater than it *should* be (once it was finally checked out & dealt with the hourly charges dropped by 80-90%) how should I proceed re:bills? $200-$300 for 900sqft 2bd1bth before but *now* once fixed it's ~$80. I began asking the owner in late June/July to have someone check this out as it was not accurate (he insisted the electric be in his name--leaving me unable to speak to/arrange anything without going through him), but he dragged his feet for months until now here we are.
  • I am going to be leasing my house out and I am in the process of preparing a lease agreement. Can I require the tenant to carry renters insurance in the terms of the lease agreement? If so, what are the restrictions on what I can require?
  • we are fighting to get our child back from foster care. why do I have to pay child support if we plan on getting her back?
  • I need to know where to start in the legal prosecution of a gentleman that had a signed contract with me to install security cameras for men and I paid him upfront for the equipment and then he disappeared. How would I start legal actions against him. I have a police report and a signed contract from him.
  • Do both parties have to notify the court when their income changes?
  • I gave my ex verbal notice of my relocation with my 4 year old, 2 mos prior to the relocation. He was receptive and understood my reasoning. I sent a letter cert. mail and it was returned to me because he failed to pick it up. So I then hired a process server, which was successful. Its now 4 days before my moving date and he has served me w/ a summons to establish parenting time and custody. My position at work has already been filled and I'm to be out of my apartment by the 5th. Am i obligated to stay in the state now? Or can i temporarily relocate?
  • My judgement was set aside in 2012. How come I am not able to pass a background check when I am applying for work? What other steps can I take to close my judgement?
  • Can the landlord tell the postal carrier the apartment is empty and to stop mail from being delivered if we still live there
