  • My late husband incurred a car repair shop debt before we met. After he died, I started getting letters from an attorney for the shop saying I was responsible for the bill now. Is this true?
  • I leased a townhome from a private individual and he uses a realtor to complete his tranacetions for him. I vacated the premises on 6/22. The lease terminated 6/30. His representative told me I would have my security deposit back within 14 days of turning the keys over. I still don't have my security deposit back. The landlord has told me the 14 days started on June 30. I'm getting conflicting information from him and his realtor. Which one is correct?
  • My daughter, received garnishment papers from her employer from an apartment she defaulted on. She was never notified of any garnishment by the collection agency; she was never served or summoned to court regarding the debt. Do they have to notify her before obtaining a garnishment?
  • I am being evicted for complaining. I was served papers at 5:30 on Friday the 12th. I went to the courthouse Monday morning and filed an answer. There was not a judge at the time, the court clerk told me to sign the papers and she would get it taken care of. I also filed a counterclaim. I had to appear in court on the 18th. I appeared in court and asked the judge for a couple days extension so I could have ample time get legal council...he refused. They were kind and said that would be fine and to come in around rent time to fill out a promissory note. During that time and now his (the landlord's) wife left him because he was very abusive. Now Sunday Nov 2nd I went in to fill out the contract to pay on the 14th and the landlord said he was evicting anyone who had anything to do with her. What can I do I am a single dad with no family in AZ.
