QUESTIONS

  • I work in outside sales. For a number of years my employer has deducted shipping costs from my commission for all accounts outside the metro area. Recently they have begun deducting the % of $ credit charges cost from my commission as well. They deduct this before my paycheck is cut. For example they show me a spreadsheet with my compensation as $7000.00 -500 shipping -500 cc fees (and sometimes other deductions) = $6000.00 since these fees are deducted can i write them off on taxes and is this even legal?
  • My ex and I had a domestic violence issue where one party assaulted the other and property was destroyed. I declined to press charges at the time (May 2018), and the charges have been dismissed without prejudice since (June 2018). Can I change my mind and still pursue charges against the other party?
  • Am I responsible for debt incurred prior to marriage at anytime?
  • My husband who participated in illegal drugs once in a while before we got married had become an addict. We haven't been married a year. Domestic abuse has occurred numerous times with me too afraid to call on him. However, they are getting worse. His name is the one in the house and he threatens to kick me out. Would this be grounds for annulment?

  • My sister in law came to stay with us from CA because we didn't want her to be homeless....we allowed her to stay here so that she could have time to get a job and find a place for herself. She is not on the lease and doesn't pay rent nor has there ever been rent spoken of because this was supposed to be temporary. She did have her mail forwarded to herself her. Since moving in we have found out she is actively using street drugs and is not making efforts to help herself and has become increasingly hostile and verbally abusive. Can she still be removed as a guest...the police said no. Help.

  • Is it required to file for child support? I filed for divorce and my ex and I are in agreement on everything, neither of us wants child support or spousal support and we filed a Maritial Settlement Agreement stating that neither of us is seeking Child support but when I am filling out the final decree it seems as though it is requiring me to also do the child support order and child support worksheet.
  • My son is 22years old and is Developmentally Disabled. Is there a free or low cost service that can help with obtaining guardianship to protect his interests? He is agreeable to the guardianship (I am his mother), but our financial situation does not provide additional means to retain a lawyer to pursue filing for guardianship.
