Question: I am the mother to a 10 yr old whose biological father is absent and my ex and I are in agreement that we want my ex to have equal joint custody and we dont know how to do this. What are the steps we need t take? Previously I had all the information but this has since expired.

Answer: The statute you want to review is A.R.S. 25-415(C), which is used to establish non-parent custody for someone who has been acting as a parent when a biological parent is absent. Self-service forms may be available through your county Superior Court.
