Child Support

questions & answers

Question: My ex owes child support and arrears, and has a warrant. He lives out of the state. is it possible for him to be picked up on this warrant?

Answer:

Arizona Revised Statute §25-681 defines a child support arrest warrant as "an order that is issued by a judicial officer in a noncriminal matter and that directs a peace officer in this state to arrest the person named . . ."

Because the warrant is in a noncriminal matter, you should contact the Division of Child Support Enforcement at (602) 252-4045 or 1-800-882-4151 to find out if they can assist you in enforcing the warrant out of state through the Uniform Interstate Family Support act, A.R.S. §§25-1201-1342.
