Question: My ex owes back child support and is going to recieve an inheritance. Can Child support collect back support from his inheritance?

Answer:

Arizona case law is not clear on this point. If the case is a Title IV-D matter, and the attorney general's office is already involved, you may want to contact that office and inquire about this. Or you could call DES itself and ask for its policy about attaching liens on assets of child support obligors.
