Question: If I worked at a company for 2 years and they say they lost my file is it mandatory that I fill out another job application
Answer: Without more information it is difficult to answer your question. For example, if you are applying for a transfer within your company, it would not be unusual for a company to request that you apply for the position just like other candidate -- after all, your qualifications have likely changed and from your qualifications 2 years ago. This is especially true in a very large company. If you are continuing to work in the same position, however, it would be strange for a company to ask you to in essence recreate the job application that you submitted 2 years before for no other reason than to complete their file. I would be hesitant to recreate what the employer should have retained.
