Landlord and Tenant Rights and Responsibilities
questions & answers
Question: Is it legal for landlord to request me to pay service call of $70 for repairs which they gave home warranty.
Answer: Without knowing the particulars it is difficult to say whether or not the landlord may charge that amount. As a general rule, the specific terms and conditions of a rental agreement determine what the landlord (and the tenant) may or may not and must or must not do, as long as those terms and conditions are consistent with the law (A.R.S. 33-1314). If you believe that, under your rental agreement, the landlord should pay that amount, then you may wish to state this writing, along with a polite explanation, in a letter to the landlord.
