Landlord and Tenant Rights and Responsibilities
questions & answers
Question: Our lease ended July 31st. We forgot to shut off the electric until August 14th. Now we have a bill for those two weeks. Who is responsible to pay? Us or the Complex?
Answer: The Arizona Residential Landlord and Tenant Act does not expressly address this sort of situation. If the rental agreement says nothing and if you and your former landlord cannot reach an arrangement, then you may wish to speak with a legal advocate.
