QUESTIONS

  • Should I seek counsel in a case where I ihave a protective order and defendant filed an answer with a lawyer?
  • If I have an order of protection and my ex- husband and or wife wants to live near by so that our child could walk to his mothers our father's house, what are the laws for this , I asked the judge, and he said that in the order of protection they no longer state a specific distance however the judge advised me to seek legal advice.
  • I can't leave he has all the money. He beats me in front of my children and threats of harming himself and me. Does see a psy. Dr but throws meds in toilet. Can I get him out on a 5150
  • My sister in-law just moved out to AZ approx. 5 months ago with her husband who has a history of verbal abuse it has gotten worse and we are thinking it is going to get more agressive I am in NJ and cannot help her where can she go for help and if not in AZ can we bring her back to NJ she has a daughter who is 7 years old whom he also does verbal abuse to.
  • I was arrested when I told the officer that I hit my ex-boyfriend. He had thrown a blanket over me and grabbed me. I fought back out of fear. My roommate intervened and my ex left before the police arrived. My ex threatened me if I told the police anything that got him in trouble, so I didn't know what to tell them. I got arrested because I said I hit my ex. My ex gave no statement, hasn't been in contact with the prosecutor, and there isn't any evidence that I did anything but protect myself. My roommate was there and is a witness. Can I possibly be found guilty for protecting myself?
  • how can i get an orders of protection against someone with no police report?
  • I have been in a domestic violence situation for 9 years. We had 3 kids out of wedlock and later on married. He is on the birth certificate but there is no court custody in place. He is also on the child abuse and neglect registry for failing to supervise my daughter properly and has domestic violence charges on his record, I was the victim. Can I relocate to another state with our children legally and not tell him?
  • what are the charges for assault intetional/reckelessly injure
  • i lived in home and left due to domestic violence. the property manger recieved my order of protection and allowed me to vacate. 6 years later my check is being garnished for unpaid rent and attorney fees. they got a judgement from the court and a collection agency is who garnished my check. i have to pay over 4000 dollars. I thought since domestic vioelnece i was able to leave according to 33-318.
  • I'm a survivor of domestic violence and sexual assault. It's been four years since the last domestic occurred and I moved to Washington to get away from my abuser with my kids. I am wondering since it has been four years ago if there is anything that I can do now like make a police report or legal action now.
