  • My parents helped me purchase a home, they did not like who I had living there and have now "evicted" all of us and are selling the home I have been paying on i for several years. We had no written agreements and now my mother is selling it and suing me and the other parties for damages. Since she is selling the home and not repairing it, is she able to sue us for damages and unpaid "rent"?
  • My boyfriend and I have been living together almost a year. We have had his 14 year old son at least every other weekend of the last 5 months and he moved in with us full time a month ago. While my boyfriend is taking the steps to obtain sole custody, what paperwork do we need or what steps do we need to take so I can be legally responsible for his son when he travels for work or is unreachable? We are not married or engaged, but I have the more flexible schedule and spend more time with the son (not that it really matters, I guess).

Do I have any enforcible visitation rights as his guardian?
  • I am a single mother of an 8 year old. The father of my child left us when my son was only 3 months old. The father recently contacted me and made it clear that he does not want any obligations with our son. He has not paid child support for 8 years. The father of my son is willing to give up his rights completely. We want to get this done as soon as possible. What can I do? I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer 4 years ago and would like complete guardianship so that in the event that I was to pass on because of my sickness that my son is taken over by my sister who is a very stable person.
  • Yes I need to see a judge to get a warrant taken care of for a state mandated class that I did not attend as I did not have the funds to pay $2300.00 for the class. What do I need to do to appear before a judge? Thank you for your help.
  • My cousin has a 14 month old boy and she has joint physical and legal custody with her ex husband. She has him the first half of the week and he is supposed to have him the last half of the week as per the court. The ex-husband has not seen his child in over 3 months, because he doesn't want to pick up the kid anymore and has told my cousin every week that he is busy with something else and can not take him. He mentioned to her recently that he just wants to give up the child because he doesn't want to be a father anymore. Is it even possible for him to give up parental rights completely?
