QUESTIONS

  • My fiancĂ© and I are in a month to month lease. On 8-26-16 a guest of ours that was visiting the state was accused of crime on property. The next day the landlord stated we had to leave that day or we could pay for next month's rent and be evicted afterwards. They stated a eviction would show on credit affectively making it nearly impossible to rent anywhere else. On the rental agreement there was no notice stating we needed to advise them if we had a guest staying longer than 14 days and he has not been formally charged. What options do I have.
  • Where do I have a legal separation agreement turned into a divorce? Husband and I and our two kids lived in Japan from August 2014 to March 2015, he and I got legal separation through military JAG over there. The last duty station we were all at for longer than 6 months was in New Mexico. Kids and I are now staying in Arizona with my mom since March 3, 2015. Can I still file in NM since that's the last place we all lived, even if I don't have a current residence there? -we would both like to file the divorce ASAP.

  • My landlord mislead me about the pool having a black stain in the deepest part. The "stain" turned out to be black algae and it spread throughout the pool. I put the landlord on notice and he had the pool drained and treated two days later. However, when I asked him when the pool maintenance would resume, he went crazy and said he was going to evict me and charge me for all of his expenses in repairing the pool. He has threatened me repeatedly out of retaliation for complaining about the pool. Can I terminate the lease because of his repeated threats?

I have not put any money down on the house because I was told that I would be set up in the computer to pay. My question is can I legally get out of this lease? It is due to start July 1. I need a management company that is going to be just as responsible as I am required to be and I am getting really bad feelings about this company. Thanks for your help! :) Kristin
  • Our former estate lawyer failed to pay for 'records storage' (among which were our wills and trust) and now that we need them because we need to update our trust, the company won't release them to us. How can we get the company to release our papers? We are willing to pay an access fee.
