  • We have lived here in an apt. type setting for 11 months. We are curious if we can break our lease based on several factors. One being that our dryer, which they supplied, has NEVER worked and shocks us (safety issue). We've complained on several occassions (including the month we moved in). Nothing has been done, and now we can't use our dryer. Or, the fact that there wasn't for at least 7 months, common area lights outside. Now there are....or the fact that my husband fell down in an area on the complex with no lights (outside apt. complex). HELP!
  • How many employees must an employer have to fall under Arizona's age discrimination laws
  • I have a order of protection against my ex but he continues to stalk me and text me. What can I do about this? He has also placed a tracker on my car, recorded audio and video of me without my knowledge, tried to break into my apt, he is threatening me and won't leave me alone. I don't know what to do anymore. I have saved every email/text/voicemail his sent me. I need advice as to what I'm suppose to do. Also he has no address so there is nowhere to send the cops to.
  • Our son who was 41 committed suicide. he did not leave a will. I need to have power of attorney so I can deal with his estate. Do we have to file something with the probate court? If so how do I go about that?
  • My husband and I own a home and have rented out a room to a man under a month to month lease. After 8 months we have decided that this is no longer what we want and have served him his 30 day notice to vacate. During this period he has moved his girlfriend in who never leaves our home even when he is at work and stays the night every night for the past 2 weeks. We clearly have it stated in the lease that the tenant shall not have overnight guests for more than 2 nights in a one week period. Can I call the cops and have her escorted off our property?
  • My family just moved out of a rental house where we lived for 5 years. In the original lease, and verbally ever since then (even in March of this year) the landlord said we would not have to pay for the condition of the carpeting when we moved out because he was going to replace it. The carpet was not damaged, but needed deep cleaning. Now the landlord says we owe $400 over and above our security deposit. He lists $500 for carpet cleaning. Can he do this? What can we do? Thanks
  • I planned to utilize 12 weeks of FMLA for the birth and care of my baby. However, the doctor will only allow me 6-8 weeks and then considers me "fit to return to work". The pediatrician cannot give me an addition an excuse for the care of my baby - unless the baby is sick. Legally, can my employer require me to return to work when my doctor says that I am able? How can I extend my leave to 12 weeks?
