A California court awarded me full legal and physical custody of my daughter after her father hit her. He has been convicted of domestic violence, drug and misc criminal charges. He is supposedly "clean" now and court ordered that he can call my daughter once per week. This is the extent of their relationship. I currently live in Arizona and want to be sure that if something were to happen to me, my sister would have guardianship. My daughter is now 13, does not want to live with him and I strongly believe it is not in her best interest to live with him. She has very close relationship with my sister and my sister would provide stability. Can I "transfer" my custodial rights to my sister and direct that custody not go to my ex or his family in a will?

My ex husband and I have joint custody and he has court ordered visitation. He was a recovering alcoholic during our divorce and has since relapsed. He planned on going to rehab but his insurance will not cover it so he has not taken his visitation in 3 weeks. According to him he is being evaluated for psychiatric disorders in place of rehab. He struggles with compulsive lying, gambling, sex addiction. I suggested counseling for our children and he blew up and denied approving such care. He now says he will start taking his visitation again but is very unstable. What can I do to keep kids safe

Had building inspected privately and my unit had black mold. Myself and toddler became sick. They never fixed it. Made it worse by having us live in an unsuitable and unsafe living environment for about 2 weeks. There was water dripping from the open ceiling. They placed a large plastic cover over my bed with an extension chord that was lying over my bed hanging out window and left it. I have a toddler. Rain + Water and an open window! LEFT THE EXTENSION CHORD OUT THE WINDOW not smart. Wasn't fixed in 3 weeks so so I moved and they placed an eviction on my record. Need advice
