  • If I bought a house and a rental home before I got married, does my wife have any rights to the equity ?
  • Our friend who was a single parent caring for her 13 year old son just past away. The father has always been in the life of this child and now has promised to dedicate all that is needed to continue raising him. My concern is if something happens to his father and if there is a legal actiin that can take place prior in order to avoid this child ever becoming involved with state litigation etc
  • Three years ago, I put myself on child support because the mother of my child would not allow me to see our daughter. As part of the court order, the mother of my child claims our daughter on taxes for all even years while I claim our daughter for all odd years. And no, I have not yet filed my 2013 taxes and she has admitted to this crime. Can I take her to court? Should I file anyway and let the IRS catch her?

  • My tenant lied about having a puppy. My home is a no pets home. She moved the dog in when she moved it. When we found about the dog we gave her a 10 day notice letter that she had no idea was coming. Within 18 hours she went on a website and got a letter saying that the puppy is now an emotional support dog and if we try to evict her she will sue us under Federal Housing Act. What are my protections? Add said no pets, applications said no pets, lease says no pets and she lied. Also advertised in local neighborhood website for a pet sitter. So, it wasn't an emotional support dog then

What rights do I have about getting my personal belongings?

It is very difficult to get things paid for through the court-appointed fiduiary and I don't plan on moving back to detroit. What steps do I need to take to regain the conservatorship?
  • It states in my lease that the tenant, "In the event of 'the tenants' failure to give notice of 'the tenants' intention to terminate, 'the tenant' shall be liable for rent for another 30 day period. According to the apartment complex, this means that they can charge rent for an entire month after the lease expires. Is this truly legal?
