QUESTIONS

  • I have been paying child support to my ex since the day our child has been born. We have split up since. I am worried that because I have not made the payments through the system that they are not going to count. How can I make sure what I have already paid and what I will be paying will be counted if she takes me to court? I have a girlfriend now and I believe when she finds out that is where we will end up.
  • I have a 2 year old daughter from a previous relationship, which the dad (for the most part) is not in the picture. I just recently got married, so my name is now the same as my husbands. We also want to change my daughters last name to be the same. How do I go about doing that? Is it possible to do so without the paternal fathers consent, when she has my maiden name currently and the father is not on the birth certificate?
  • I am applying for Cash assistance as I am having some financial trouble. I know that normally the Child support division goes after the other parent to pay back the CA payments, but the other parent is on SSI, which I know by Arizona law, she cannot be gone after for child support. How will this work in this case? Will she be gone after to pay back the CA payments even though she is on SSI?
  • I got granted temporary sole legal decision making of my daughter but during this case I got into a car accident with my other daughter, I was not the driver or passenger and had no illegal part in this accident. Now my daughters father is telling me he has temporary sole custody and I cannot see her at all. He has domestic violence and was told that sole custody was not an option in our case for him. He got a lawyer and we made a settlement so it would be easier for me because the accident ruined everything with my life and I signed it but she told us that we needed to get it notarized.
  • I own a mobile home but rent the land it sits on (in a park). Monthly, the landlord sends a bill that includes a base rent, charges for electricity, water use, and sewer. It also includes a "rent tax." I'm unsure what this rent tax is and whethere he should be paying it or I should. There is also a "service charge" of $10 on the monthly electric portion, which I think is a reading fee (a man who lives here reads the meters). Are these last two charges legitimate?
  • My landlord served me and 30 day eviction notice cause we will not sign in active lease after doing month to month cause we are purchasing a home and closing after the vacated date
  • How do I request a name change for my minor son?
  • Does the parent still pay child support when the child is with them for vacation
  • I have been going through a custody battle with my childs father. we have not gone to trial yet. even though i sued him for custody heo tas not done a DNA test yet. cant I just claim I was mistaken marry and name my boyfriend as the father so I dont have to be tied to this abusive man that does not care about our baby son
  • My daughter is now 6 months old, her father and I broke up while I was a month pregnant, he didn't want to be involved until I was 8 months pregnant. He saw her the day after she was born so I put him on her birth certificate but I haven't seen or heard from him since. Can I take him to court to terminate his parental rights?
