QUESTIONS

  • Can I install grab bars, lower my countertops or make other needed modifications against my landlord’s objections?
  • Me and my ex have a custody agreement but yet on my legal days she will not allow me to have him. How can she do that, and what are my rights? I do not feel I should have to pay child support if I am not being given my court ordered time. I also was wondering who is responsible for travel payment, because she moved out of state and will not pay to fly him to me for my legal days, she says I need to either pay to fly him out here or I can drive to Northern Arizona to get him if I want him on my legal days, can she do that?
  • My father died in March & mother in June. We have found that dad had some life insurance through USPO with no beneficiary designated. They want to pay to my mom's estate but there is no estate. She had assets under $10,000 and no real property. I found the small estate affidavit. There are three surviving children, 1 deceased with 2 children. I assume we all need to fill out an affidavit? One of the grandchildren is still a minor. Who fills out his?
  • My brother who is 36 needs to enter rehab for alcoholism. He spoke w/his supervisor & she supports him. She contacted the District Mgr. & was told my brother has to quit his job if he wants to enter rehab. Isn't that against the law?
  • When is it NOT LEGAL to terminate an employee; i.e., what are the grounds for termination of employment that the law prohibits?
  • I am currently working for a company, but I want to get a better job.I received a call from one place that would have given me more money, allowed me to go to school, and it even offered medical benefits, which I really need since I currently have none.I was supposed to start the following Tuesday, but unfortunatley my current boss did not want me to go and called the place I was pursuing and said some unappropriate things about me.What can I do
  • I have served my apartments with a 5 day notice to fix or vacate and they are saying I need to file papers with the justice court. Do I need to and can you tell me what they are?
  • My daughter and I leased an apartment 2 weeks ago. The police served an arrest warrant on my daughter's friend who was visiting our apartment yesterday by forcing entry into the apartment and also conducting a search of the entire apartment. The police told me this was in reference to an ongoing criminal case against this person. I am concerned that we will be evicted even though we had no idea that her friend had a warrant for his arrest and do not have any idea why it was served at our place of residence. Should I speak with the management to proactively avoid any type of repercussions?
  • How can I get paid for work I did
  • I was arrested in August for marijuana possession. I was with a group and we were detained while the officer questioned us. We were not read our rights and I told the officer the joint was mine to eliminate my friend from getting into trouble. I was taken to the police station and was held for a few hours but they never read me my rights. I was then realeased to go home. I have since moved back to California and am trying to find out what is going to happen. There is no case filed and the court told me not to worry about it but the police said they have a year to file. What can I do?
