QUESTIONS

  • In 2011 I was late with my rent payment. I received a notice to pay or vacate. I immediately paid the rent past due and late fees in full. The following month my lease expired, I paid my rent due and moved out. Fast forward to 2013 I find out the apartment filed a forcible/special detainer. Is this legal? Am I able to dispute the judgement? Please help. Thanks
  • I let my cousin and her daughter leave some of their belongings in my back house. It was only supposed to be for a few weeks it has now been over three years. I have talked to my cousin and have repeatedly told her to pick up her stuff. She says she'll be here a certine day and never comes. Her daughter I can never get a hold of what can I do with all their stuff now?
  • My husband and I are getting divorced and have 4 children under the age of 12. We have not been able to reach an agreement on custody and temporary orders  included that joint physical custody be granted. In addition, there are "parentling evaluations" scheduled . What is a "Parenting evaluation" and what kinds of questions should I expect? Will there be an opportunity for me to provide the evaluator with inforation? Thank you!
  • I am a new tenant on section 8 housing as a tenant doi have to stay in a apartment that has roaches and I'm constantly complaining. I feel no human being should have to be subject to live like this just because your low income. What can I do please help
  • My Son is the Father to a soon to be Baby Girl due 6/26/11. The Mother of the unborn child has become abusive and Son no longer wants to Marry her. She states that she is going to leave the state and put the child up for adoption if he doesn't Marry her. What are his rights?
  • I have fallen victim to someone who has taken most of my money and who has promised to pay me back so I can have monthly income. He will not and I think he is leaving the state. I cannot afford food even and I can't afford a lawyer. Is there a DA I can talk to or some organization that can help me?
  • I am currently incarcerated and have joint custody of my adolecent boys. My ex has refused to allow me to see my boys even before my conviction. I have testimony that the boys have said they will not have anything to do with me bacause their mom will get mad. have I lost my parental rights by my incarceration and can I do anything to get visitation time with my children. I am so sad over this.
  • I have a 3 year old son and his father and i are separated for a year and 5 months. I also have a domestic abuse protection order against my son's father, my question is.. can I apply for child support with no visitation? and also do I still have to face him in court for child support?
  • My mothers health has drastically changed and she only lives on social security, a very small disability bi-weekly stipend and has medicare. While my mother has been accepted for medicaid as a secondary insurance, she will have to contribute monthly of $406 so that she will be able to have full time home health care (vs only part time with medicare). This expense will make it impossible to help her pay her credit card debts off. My mother needs to contribute to medicaid but then won't have enough to pay off her debts. What are options as far as her credit cards? Should I close them (with her on the phone) and let them know that she is unable to pay so we'd need a settlement price? Or just walk away? I am unsure of her options as my original plan was to help her pay them off one by one.
  • I just want to know what exactly is called neglect in the eyes of the law?
