QUESTIONS

  • my daughter is on dialysis and I have filled out an fmla @ work in case I have to take time off to care for her. They are wanting to change my hours which will conflict with my daughters dialsis. I don't go with her but I do care for her daughter so she may have her treatments as well as preparing dinner for both of them because she is too tired when she gets home. my question is will the fmla protect me against them changing my hours so I can continue providing care for my grandaughter so my daughter can get the treatments she needs
  • After signing my lease agreement and after moving in, my landlord had some guy come to the house to do a stucco job due to termites. We were not aware of the house having termite until after we were settled in. The guy said he would come back to work on the house because he needed the landlord signature to start the repairs. Well I guess my landlord never signed the paper because the guy never returned. It has been months and we still have termites. What can I do in this situation.
  • I filed for a order of protection 2/18 & defendant filed to drop it (heating 3/4). Judge said there were 2 violations since OP was granted but since I replied to his saying he was sorry to hear about the death of my 23 yr. old cat (no law says I can't contact him!) he/Judge said he's only guilty of one violation ...yet he firmly told defendant to leave me alone & granted his request to dismiss the Order of Protection. What can I do about this injustice? By the way we are a bit racial couple

  • My family just moved out of a rental house where we lived for 5 years. In the original lease, and verbally ever since then (even in March of this year) the landlord said we would not have to pay for the condition of the carpeting when we moved out because he was going to replace it. The carpet was not damaged, but needed deep cleaning. Now the landlord says we owe $400 over and above our security deposit. He lists $500 for carpet cleaning. Can he do this? What can we do? Thanks

  • I am currently looking for a home to rent and have a profile on a housing site. I recently inquired about a rental home. The homeowner contacted me and asked me a series of questions. She then text me how I afford rent and utilities on Long Term Disability and also stated she is worried that my boyfriend who would be on the lease works out of town. My question is are they allowed to profile you like that. Clearly I wouldn't inquire in the home if we could not afford it. She asked if I was aware of the rental price and I expressed we pay more now where we live. She set a showing and now ignores my call

  • We are on a month to month lease with 60 notice to vacate. We are actually vacating after 30 days, leaving the house empty (but open to potential new tenants) for the remainder of the terms. Who is responsible for the utilities during that time? I don't want someone to leave a light on and be charged for it after we have turned the property back over the the management company.
