Child Support
questions & answers
Question: If your name has legally been removed from the childs birth do you still have to pay child support
Answer: Having you name removed from the birth certificate would not eliminate your obligations from child support. You absolutely have the right to file a petition with the court to change or modify your current child support. Here is the website for child support in Arizona. It is run through the Department of Economic Security (DES). https://www.azdes.gov/az_child_support/ There are a ton of resources on that site and it walks you through the process if you choose to do it yourself. You also may want to consider contacting a family law attorney who can help navigate you through the process.
