Question: I Am 16 years old and i have a job at bojangles. My parents is in charge of my bank account so they have access to my money at will. When i get into trouble they empty out my bank account without me knowing and sometimes they dont even tell me. Is that legal for them to take my money that i have worked hard for.
Answer: o It sounds like you have a custodian account with one of your parents. Since you are only 16 you cannot have your own account without an adult. Being a custodian for an account gives your parents full access to your account, this means that they can withdraw and deposit money, see your spending activity, and the ability to write checks even though the account is in you name. The account cannot be transfer fully into your name until you are 18 years old.
REVIEW
researching.
Parents are considered custodians of a child's earnings, gifts and are to hold it in trust for them until they turn 18. Only child celebs have actually taken the kids to court. Parents are obligated to provide basic necessities, it is unclear if a wage earning may have his wages taken to contribute to the household.
