Question: I was assaulted by my 29yr old Daughter. I called 911 and told the officer I needed paramedics and wanted to press charges. neither happened. I was asked to leave for the night! I took many pictures of bumps, bruises etc. can I go back and press charges?

Answer: Yes. There are two ways you can try. You can make a desk report at the police station, explaining what happened and asking for the status of their investigation. Or you can contact the city prosecutor's office and ask if they will consider filing a direct complaint and issuing a summons. You should probably not attempt the latter unless the first option gets you nowhere, and even then, the prosecutor's office may ask you to wait while it contacts law enforcement for an explanation. Ultimately, the city attorney decides whether to commence a criminal action.
