Landlord and Tenant Rights and Responsibilities
questions & answers
Question: Can a house built for a mother in law be rented by someone from another family
Answer: This may depend on who owns the house and what the lease agreement looks like. There are a few Arizona statutes that prohibit certain tenants from living in houses. This is typically due to planned communities (one example is senior living communities) having restrictions such as the tenant's age, whether the tenant has pets or children, etc. For more information, visit the relevant statutes concerning landlord and tenant law, A.R.S. section 33, chapter 3, which can be found at: http://www.azleg.gov/ArizonaRevisedStatutes.asp?Title=33
