Question: My Fiance and i are living with a friend and his wife. can the leasing office evict them for letting us stay with them?

Answer:

Each state and city have different provisions in regards to the amount of time a tenant may have a guest.  Once the guest time has expired, yet the guest remains, the landlord may have several options as to what actions to take against both the tenant and the guest.  These actions can be things such as charging the guest rent, taking eviction actions against the tenant for violating the rental agreement, having the guest legally removed from the property, etc…To find out what solutions your landlord may have and what solutions you as a tenant or a guess may have please call the Arizona Department of Housing at:
