questions & answers
Question: What is the requirement of an apartment complex when bed bugs have been discovered? Are they required to cover relocation while the apartment is being treated if it is over a certain period of time?
Answer: o No the landlord in not responsible for your relocation while the house is treated for bedbugs. Under A.R.S. 33-1319 the landlord is merely responsible for providing the tenant with literature about bedbugs and making an effort to get rid of them once they have been discovered. Neither the landlord nor the tenants are responsible for any damages cause by the bedbugs to either the property or valuables. http://www.azleg.gov/FormatDocument.asp?inDoc=/ars/33/01319.htm&Title=33&DocType=ARS
