Landlord and Tenant Rights and Responsibilities
questions & answers
Question: Our lease was up in May of 2018. We did not resign a lease. We are month to month. We were emailed a letter stating that we had to be out on oct 31 and they are not stating a reason. Is this ok?
Answer: Arizona Revised Statute, Section33-1375 (B) states: "The landlord or the tenant may terminate a month-to-month tenancy by a written notice given to the other at least 30 days prior to the periodic rental date specified in the notice." This statute allows either the landlord or the tenant to end the rental arrangement for any reason or no reason, so long as they give 30 days written notice.
