Question: I moved in with my girlfriend who own a house, while I live with her, I pay rent, I help her with home improve such paint, clean up back yard and some repair, now we don't get along, I want my money back or compension for help with home improve, but I didn't pay for materials, just labor, I didn't ask for money for help with house improve or anything, I just pay for rent and sleep with her, do I have right?

Answer: A person who believes that they are legally entitled to compensation for money or labor expended always has the option of taking the party who owes them to court by filing a civil complaint. In the absence of a contract, however, it may be difficult for that person to prove that the other party owes them compensation.
