Landlord and Tenant Rights and Responsibilities
questions & answers
Question: My landlord is selling her home now but my lease isn’t up until June 30, 2020. What are my rights? Do I have to move or stay until the lease is up
Answer: Ordinarily, unless the rental agreement says otherwise, when one owner/landlord sells to a new owner, the new owner becomes the new landlord, because the old owner’s obligations under the rental agreement transfer to the new owner.
