Landlord and Tenant Rights and Responsibilities
questions & answers
Question: Can the landlord tell the postal carrier the apartment is empty and to stop mail from being delivered if we still live there
Answer: It is up to the tenant, as the customer, to inform the USPS of the customer’s change of address, not the landlord. Any tenant whose landlord interferes or threatens to interfere with the delivery of the tenant’s mail may wish to contact the USPS.
