QUESTIONS

  • How long does a tenant have to file a lawsuit against a landlord for disposing of tenants property. My landlord disposed everything I owned for 30 years after I was evicted and forced to leave at a moments notice. 12 days later everything I owned was discarded without any notice to me. Is ther anything I can do.
  • What can I do or whom shall I speak to about a fraudulent company for a mortgage loan modification. GREEN TREE FINANCIAL GROUP. We paid them 2,800 dollars and they acted very legitiment until I tried to get in touch with them a week ago. I found out through the California and Arizona policy that they are indeed frauds. Can you please help us. My home is now in foreclosure.
  • I owe a credit union in Michigan $25,000 for Visa and $175,000 for second mortgage. They wrote the balances off 12/30/2010. I continued to make payments on the mortgage thru May-2012. I have not received any communications from the credit union since then. In June 2013 I received a letter from a collection agency that states that I owe $200,000 on the 2nd mortgage and $32,000 on the visa. What are my rights? What am I obligated to pay? Does Arizona have a law that creditors are not allowed to solicit more than what they paid for a debt? Your help would be greatly appreciated. SB
  • I don't know who the father of my son is and there is no father listed on the birth certificate. My boyfriend would like to adopt my son when we marry in October- we have been together for 4 years. How do we start the adoption process?
  • I was married to an ex marine for 10 years when I was 18. He was murdered shortly before we were divorced. Its been over 20 years but I was wondering am I still qualified for survivor's benefits or his pension?
  • I moved in to a rental in a vacation village in October before the cold weather hit. I signed a year lease with a property manager. The home is so poorly insulated that it cannot maintain heat. The cold air seeps through the floors and walls and I cannot keep warm. The electric is constantly running and it is costing me over 200.00 per month to heat 389 sq. ft. I also have health issues that are exacerbated by the cold. I do not feel this home is meant to be a full time residence. For health reasons, I cannot stay here. Do I have recourse to break my lease?
  • What is the procedure for transferring a child support order from the courts to DES?
  • I had heard that if you receive 3 consecutive days off (of your scheduled 5 days), you can qualify for Unemployment Compensation. I am a full time employee and am averaging 1-2 days a week. Can I qualify?
  • Lease ends Dec. 10, 2018. I will pay in full, move out and turn over keys mid November. BUT landlord says I am still responsible for the property until Dec. 10th and is holding my security deposit hostage until that date. I don't want to be responsible for the property after I move out. What are my rights?
  • I am the parent who receives the child support, I have remarried and have a different last name. is there a form that i need to fill out so the c.s. checks match that to my new bank account?
