Landlord and Tenant - Mobile Home Parks

questions & answers

Question: I have a water meter on my side of the curb and then 85ft of water service where it comes out of ground has a hose bibb and shut-off, back in ground and up to trailer. all on my lot.water line is leaking between shut off and meter.who is responsible and where can i research. on disability.

Answer: You (or your landlord if you are renting the space for your mobile) are responsible for leaks on your side of the meter. The water company is responsible for water leaks on their side of the meter. You should do a written request to the mobile home park owner (if you are in a park) or the landlord if not, to fix the leak. Keep a copy for your records. Hopefully the landlord will recognize that wasting water through leakage is bad for all of us in Arizona and is costing someone (him if he pays the water bill) money for the leaked water. You can find out about disability rights by looking at the website of the Arizona Center for Disability Law: http://www.acdl.com Good luck!
