Question: Does DES count SSI payments for a disabled child
Answer: In Arizona, Social Security Income is counted as income when receiving D.E.S. assistance. However, there may be factors to consider when computing the amount one may receive: the age of the disabled child, whether the person receiving SSI is the parent or custodian, and whether the SSI receiver is receiving any other income. Please visit the Arizona Department of Economic Security's website https://www.azdes.gov/default.aspx to receive further help.
