  • Ex & I have a child. First 1.5yr of her life he was MIA, always drunk/selling drugs. 2016 I got married. Custody court ended up being 1 mo after ex got locked up. I really don't want him involved in his life. He shows no concerns of my son's welfare. My question is can I change my son's last name (his father's)to mine without going through the courts in establishing him being his father? We were never married. His last contact with him was over 4 yrs ago. There is nothing that's been done through the courts. I also want my fiance to be able to adopt him (they want that too)
  • Hi, I am trying to get my security deposit back after two months since moving out, and I am preparing for a small claims court case. My question is: Can I use text messages in the small claims court case to provide documentation of what the other party said to me and to also help establish a timeline of events? If so, how should I go about doing this (bring the phone, print out the text messages from my phone, etc.)? Thanks!
