  • my year lease is up nov 29 she gave me notice today rent increase again frm 513 to 575 this is a studio apt no bigger thn 500 sq ft is this legal she is a slum lord also charging water when its not separate units also she has thermaostat in office I have no control of it she has done no upgrades I replace things whn they need to b replaced and roaches I have to take care of the prob myself can she keep raising my rent every year ? help
  • I wanted to know if a landlord can charge me for a damaged wood gate in the backyard? Can it be taken out of my deposit? The gate was never maintenance and it was not on the lease?
  • We moved into a apartment in February. The ac never worked, electrical problems, landlord never fixed. Plus bug issue. We never signed a lease or contract. We just moved out beginning of May because he refused to repair items in timely manner. He also wanted late fees because I didn't deposit rent into his personal bank account. I always paid in person., But he was out of state, so I got money order and held it till he returned. He demanded late fees. Now he refused to return our deposit. He didn't do a walk through when we vacated either. What can I do. He charged us 1100 deposit.

  • Ok thank you for this opportunity to ask a question. To add a parking spot covered that is a extra $15 or so a month. Can the landlord demand a new lease with the parking option? We don't want to start a whole new lease and that shouldn't be allowed it doesn't seem fair. The spots are always available they are not a high demand option
  • I am plaintiff in a civil claim; lndlrd did not return sec deposit OR an itemized list of damages w/in 14 days; she claims over 8K in damages which I did not do.She claims she mailed the itemized list. I NEVER REC'D it; I filed in small claims; she ignored 4 attempts by the constable to be served. I motioned to serve, and constable served her. In her small claims answer she includes a letter w/ a date (w/in the 14 days), but it was apparently mailed by first class mail. I DID'T receive this. How do I ask to enter premises to see if item was replaced.I am in discovery process now. Thank you.
