  • what can I do if the owner sold the property and the new management is telling me I have to get my deposit back from him and he lives out of state???? The owner also owes me for unpaid wages during my employment there. He took me to court 4 times for payment of non rent but instructed the managers NOT to accept my rent payments. The courts ruled in my favor and I owed him zero. I was still evicted and had 5 days to move. I did a walk-thru with a manager and I left it move-in ready yet I'm fighting now for my deposit... any suggestions?????? Please.

  • My husband is homeless and does not really have an address. I mailed the acceptance of service plus the divorce papers to him at his last known addressvia certified mail. If I get the papers back unclaimed or undelivered can I file this along with asking for a default or do I have to go by publication? I cannot afford all these fees. I did get a deferral for the court fees but did not check for publication fees. Publication sounds like it is a hard and delaying process. I hear some saying I can file if I get the certified green card back as proof of service or even if the papers come back unclaimed. We have three kids and I am asking for sole custody.
  • Our landlord refuses to fix our swamp cooler and the resulting problems. The swamp cooler leaks water, which has damaged the roof so that it leaks in our bedroom & closet for the last 3 years. This year it blew a fuse, so the landlord is using OUR extention cord for power. Now, whenever the cooler is turned on, the faucets and metal parts of our toilet/sink are electrified. We would like to file the 10 day repair notice but can't afford to move out. Can we file for damages while still living in the apt? Are we allowed to stay until the case is over?

The landlady is allowing the tenants next door have their non-senior daughter and 2 grandchildren live next door for free for a year and on top of all the chaos and noise from the kids and extra friends and family constantly coming and going this is not the senior living that the landlady advertised when i signed a lease. and to make matters even worse the woman with the 2 kids is a convicted thief . allow the tenants have open mailboxes which makes it extra stress. i try talking to the landlady for a yr. and im being ignored. help!
