QUESTIONS

  • My husband & I are legal guardians to a non relative child age 15. We have had him since he was 7. Mother's location not known. Father never in picture. We would like to transfer guardianship to our son & his wife. How do we proceed with this? The child was a ward of the state and we do receive cash assistance, health benefits and free lunch at his school and would like that transferred to our son as well. We do not want to incur any legal costs. Thank you.
  • With joint custody, how are heath insurance premiums, co pays, dental , optical all handled? One parent pays for all as in my daughters case?
  • we had no electric in one room of our rental for 9 months. It would sometimes flicker when we jumped on the floor or slammed the door. We contacted the landlord several times to repair it. We have several text messages stating such. The cost to repair was more than 50% of our rent. We gave our 30 day notice on July 2 for August 1st after months of trying to get this repaired. Our landlord checked us out on Aug 1 stating everything was perfect and we would receive all of our deposit back in 14 business days. Our total deposit was $1850- we received $300. They stated we did not give them notice
  • Thank you for allowing me a question....and answer. I leased a house October 2017, with a one year lease. After that it was "technically" on month-to-month. My husband and I purchased a house in Cave Creek with a VA loan closing in May 2019. To make it "easier" for my Landlord I found him a replacement tenant. She was accepted. My nightmare began.....she had the house - my purchased house fell out....the LL ignore me.......literally making me vacate the premises so the new tenant could move in. I was verbally abused - my property thrown on the driveway. I was homeless. Help?
  • I was involved in an accident last year where the at-fault driver was uninsured. After receiving care my health insurance was billed and no liens were put on my auto insurance. I have since settled with auto insurance, but this week I received a collection notice from an attorney saying I owe the provider an amount above the agreed upon rate from my health insurance. When talking to the provider they said AZ law allows them to collect the remaining balance from me with personal injury. Can they hold me liable for the balance above the rate my health insurance has after they have billed them?
  • Am I legally required to return an engagement ring after the wedding has been called off?
  • I no longer live in AZ but a legal office where I live said AZ still has jurisdiction on the case. I share joint legal custody with my sons father. We do not reside in the same state but he says I need a lawyer to move. There is approximately 6-7 hours driving time between our current residences and when I move it will be that long of a flight time. Can he prevent me from moving? I gave him verbal notice and followed up with an email of when we plan to leave so he is fully aware of the relocation.
  • my son and his wife have a court order they have joint custody they are not supposed to have the kids around anybody that they are romantically involved in they broke the court order can they get in trouble
